Zoom is the most widely used videoconferencing platform, so most of your learners will already be familiar with it.

The Business Basic plan includes OneDrive, Exchange and SharePoint plus web versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The Business Standard plan includes full MS Suite access.

No additional cost if you are already a Microsoft 365 user.

Every Business plan includes the full Google Workspace suite: Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail, Jamboard, etc.

Limited features compared with Zoom and Teams.

Zoom is a great option because after the Covid-19 lockdowns, almost everyone is somewhat familiar with it.

It’s easy to use and has great functionality and features. For larger meetings, it’s the best choice, with options to host 100, 500 or 1000 participants (depending on the plan you are on).

The main drawback is the limitations placed on the free plan - meetings can only be 40 minutes maximum and host a capacity of 100 guests. If you don’t want to pay for your online learning platform, but want a little more time to run your lectures, try Microsoft Teams or Google Meet.

Microsoft Teams is a great option if your organisation has already invested in Microsoft Office 365.

Everything is all in one place - meetings, chat, recordings of lectures, files, whiteboards, calendar and assignments.

It takes some getting used to due to the confusing file structures. However, if you and your students watch a quick tutorial video on YouTube you should be just fine

The only reason you may not want to use Microsoft Teams is if you have a class capacity of over 250 people - try Zoom for larger class sizes.

Google Meet is a great option if you are already a Google Workspace user, as there’s great integration between different Google apps.

It is widely regarded as one of the most easy-to-use videoconferencing platforms (likely because most people are somewhat familiar with Google), and also the most secure.

It does have limited in-call features compared to Zoom and Teams – however it has an edge over Zoom due to the additional apps and security features.
